I would like to thank Wildfire Books for sending me an advance copy of this book.
I had been looking forward to reading this third instalment in the Stephanie King series and, as usual, Rachel Abbott didn’t disappoint. It is a fast-paced story that made me keep turning the pages until I reached the end, only a couple of days after I started reading it.
I love it when I am reading a thriller and I think I am guessing what’s going on and I am pretty certain of the ending, but then boom! Twists make your head spin and you realize you didn’t see that coming at all. The characters were relatable and, in fact, made me think of certain events from my younger years quite similar to what was happening in the book. That made the story more real for me. It was not a far-fetched plot that nobody could believe. The situations in this book could happen to anybody.
Set in the moody area of Cornwall, what else could you ask for in a thrilling rollercoaster of a book? Family feuds, past events that haunt you, shady characters… Give it a try and you will know what I am talking about.
Anyhow, for all of that, I give this book… 4 TEA CUPS!
