Hello, everyone!
Today I am starting a new series of posts on the blog, which I’m calling Meet the Author. From time to time, I will be introducing a new (or not so new) author here on the blog. It is important to help each other, and some authors don’t get a lot of visibility. The publishing world is ruthless, people! And there are lots of authors out there, so sometimes it is good to help to get them noticed. Don’t you think?
Well, without further ado, I bring you… SHANNON DAVIS!

Shannon Davis grew up in Northwest Florida where she developed a love of writing as a young girl, keeping countless diaries and notebooks filled with short stories. After college, she followed her love of mathematics and became a high school math teacher. She retired from the classroom after nearly three decades to pursue her lifelong dream of writing.
A military wife and mother of three college-aged children, she and her husband reside in Georgia with their three dogs and four cats. When she is not writing, Shannon enjoys traveling, baking, and outdoor activities. An avid reader of women’s fiction and love stories, she is a sucker for happy endings. Her love of the south coupled with romance is evident in her novels, Worth the Risk and Worth the Wait, books one and two in the Southern Fairy Tale series.
I asked Shannon to tell me 5 random numbers from 1 to 30, and those were the questions she had to answer. I hope you all had as much fun reading this as we had putting them together.
1. What is your favorite fruit flavor?
My favorite fruit flavor is strawberry. I love blackberries, blueberries, and grapes too!
2. What is your favorite day of the week?
My favorite day of the week is Sunday because it’s a day of rest, relaxation, and worship. I also love Saturday, but for some reason, we are usually busy running errands or catching up on chores on Saturday.
3. Are you a morning person or a night person?
I am a night person, but usually only until around midnight. Every now and then I wake up early enough to grab a cup of coffee and see the sun rise, but don’t expect much more out of me until I’m on that second cup.
4. What kind of music do you like?
I enjoy listening to the 80s and 90s, hair bands, classic rock, light rock, classic country, pop country, contemporary Christian, and some classical and jazz. A few of my favorite bands are Def Leppard, .38 Special, Casting Crowns, and Mercy Me.
5. Which is the best holidays you have ever had?
The best holiday I’ve ever had is Christmas. Every Christmas with my family. I love having everyone together. The joy, the spirit, the lights, the food, the fellowship, the laughter, the harmony… It’s the best feeling.
6. Congratulations! Now you can freely rant about your book(s) and/or project(s).
My first book was published in June of 2020 and the second was published four months later, in October. I am currently working on my third book in the series and hope to have it available in a couple of months.
Books: The Southern Fairy Tales series

Book 1 — Worth the Risk
Not all fairy tales are as simple as meeting your handsome prince and living happily ever after. Nobody knows this better than Rebecca Sharp. She thought she met her prince at the tender age of eight. As their friendship grew stronger, childhood infatuation culminated into a desire for romance. But untimely circumstances shattered Rebecca’s dreams of true love and left her broken and alone. A fresh start was the only way she could close the door to her painful past. Now, harboring a dark secret, Rebecca has returned home to attend her ten-year class reunion, mostly to prove she isn’t afraid to see Jackson again.
Jackson Strickland had his own secrets, but his love for Rebecca wasn’t one of them. Tormented by the memories of the only girl he ever loved, his life spiraled out of control. When Rebecca unexpectedly returns, his life is shaken even more. No longer the young girl he remembered, she was a strong and beautiful woman. Despite his bitterness, he can’t resist her or the fire in his heart that’s been smoldering for the past ten years. But secrets from his past still haunt him and danger looms as a killer lurks.
Will they be able to overcome their past and risk everything for love?

Book 2 — Worth the Wait
High school English teacher Claire Gibbs thought she’d found love but a broken heart was all she had to show for it. When her latest disappointment turns out to be a smooth-talking control freak, she swears off men. Although she couldn’t deny wanting the fairy tale—a happily ever after with Mr. Right—she was in no rush to date again.
Until she met Caleb.
Air Force officer Caleb Williams’ love life could be summed up in three words: crash and burn. All he wanted was to find a love that would stand the test of time. After a string of failed relationships with high maintenance drama queens, he gave up hope of finding someone special to share his life with and decided to fly solo.
But then he met Claire.
As fate keeps bringing them together, waiting for the right one might not take as long as they thought. Sparks ignite and passion flares as their dreams of finding true love become reality. But a possessive ex will stop at nothing to prevent their happily ever after. Will the one thing they’ve waited their whole lives for be destroyed at the hands of a killer?
